Admissions to Millstead School
The Local Authority decides on our admissions, parents/carers should make contact with the Local Authority either by phone or in writing, Please see the link below:
Please ensure that we have the most up to date information regarding your contact details and medical information about your child. If you change your address, telephone number or if there are any changes to your child's medication please contact school; alternatively you can download the Emergency Contact form, complete and return to school.
If you child is absent from school due to illness or appointments you must contact school by 9am to inform of the nature of the illness or appointment. If you have planned appointments, please send in a copy of the appointment letter in order that this can be placed on your child's school file.
If you are planning a holiday during term time please contact the school office to inform of the dates and a holiday form will be sent to you for completion. Please note that authorisation from the Head teacher will be required.
Contacting School /Telephone Calls
The Administration Team will assist with most general enquiries, however if you wish to speak to the Class Teacher unless this is an emergency the Administration Team will take a message for the Class Teacher to call you back when the school day has ended. Interruptions during Teaching & Learning time causes disruption to the children's routines and impacts on their learning.
If your child is unwell or we have a situation we feel you should be notified of we will make contact with you.
The School Nursing Team are available throughout the school day to offer advice and support.
All meals should be paid for at the beginning of each week; the cost of the school meals is £10.00 per week (£2.00 per day). Please place the money or cheque in an envelope clearly marked with your child's name, class and the amount enclosed. Failure to maintain weekly payments may result in your child having to bring a packed lunch to school

If you child is entitled to Free School Meals and you have not already applied for this academic year please contact your local 'ONE STOP SHOP'.
Home-school Link Books
Your child will be provided with a home-school link book, this is for you to communicate on a daily basis with your child's class teacher. Please use this book for any queries, concerns or information that you need to pass onto the class teacher. The class teacher will use the home-school link book in the same way.
Hydrotherapy and swim sessions are available to all children across the school. We require a consent form to be signed by a parent/carer before your child is able to access the pool. Parents/carers can send in their own swimwear/nappies, please ensure that your child's name is clearly labelled within their belongings. The class teacher will inform you of when your child has swim sessions.
We encourage all parents to participate in promoting the children to wear a school uniform. The school uniform consists of:
Grey pinafore/skirt Grey trousers
Yellow polo shirt Yellow polo shirt
Royal Blue Sweatshirt/cardigan Royal Blue Sweatshirt/cardigan
Royal Blue Jogging suit Royal Blue Jogging suit
Yellow summer dress/Cardigan Grey shorts/polo shirt
PE Kit: Navy shorts, yellow t-shirt and black pumps
Swimming Kit: full costume for girls/ swim trunks or shorts for boys and a towel.

During the winter months in particular adverse weather conditions the school endeavours to remain open for our children, however there are circumstances that are beyond our control. The school works closely with Liverpool City Council and should we need to close school a decision will be made as early as possible and we will make contact with you by text and update the school website.

There may be times when you or your children need support, and times when you are not sure what you need to do to make things better. For some time now, agencies and services have been working together to help families, as we know that the sooner help and support is provided, the better families can begin to help themselves and more importantly, it
does stop things getting worse.
