The children in Yew Class have settled really well into their new class group. There are 7 children in Yew Class this year. The class teacher is Zoey, Leah is the Learning Support Officer and Molly, Megan, Beth, Jenna, Ellie and Sasha are the Learning Support assistants.
Last half-term, we explored the topic All about me and People who help us. Through teaching and learning activities and play, we have worked towards developing the children's social communication, their independence and their level of engagement.
This term our topic is Walking in a Winter Wonderland. Activities will continue to focus on promoting social communication, emotional and sensory regulation and level of engagement. We will explore numerous celebrations this term including Halloween, Bonfire Night, Diwali and Christmas.
This term our topic has been down at the bottom of the garden. We have enjoyed searching for bugs in different sensory materials. These include sand, mud, angel delight, shaving foam and many more.
In ICT we have been learning to take "selfies" using the iPad.
Our story has been Ladybird Ladybird what do you hear? We have been learning about colours and the sounds that different animals make.
We have also had book week this term and have enjoyed exploring different books.
