Hello and welcome to Yew Class. We are an SLD class with 7 boys 3 girls with a wide range of needs who love coming to school, spending time with our friends and having FUN!
Our teacher this year is Laura, our Learning Support Officer is called Leah and we have fantastic Learning Support Assistants called Jenna, Emma, June, Kate and Hayley.
We will keep our page updated so keep coming back to see what we have been upto!
Pirates Ahoy!
Shiver me timbers! This term we are learning all about pirates. All our literacy and numeracy work is pirate based and we have been making fruit pirates during our cookery session.
Our favourite book so far is Pirates Love Underpants and we have been looking at the rhymes in the story. It makes us giggle when the pirates get to Big Knickers Bay!
We have been to the Maritime Museum to learn all about pirates with our Captain - we even did a treasure hunt for gold chocolate coins and found a huge pirate ship at the Albert Dock.
In the first term our topic was paintbrushes at the ready. We had lots of fun painting in the style of different artists, exploring different ways of painting & markmaking and we even visited an the Walker Art Gallery to choose our favourite painting...take a look at all the fun we had!!
Happy New Year!!!
Happy New Year from everyone in Yew Class! We hope you all had a lovely Christmas break. We are very excited about our new topic in Yew Class - The Italian Experience - which you can read all about on our curriculum leaflet below.
We also have a lovely new LSA called Kate in our class and we are looking forward to having lots of fun with her.
