During the last half term the children in Yew Class have been learning all about our 'Transport' topic. The children have completed lots of tasks to develop play skills, communication, fine and gross motor activities and learning new skills based on this topic.
During our class trips we explored what different types of transport we could see in our local area; visited the canal and looked at the barges, visited the airport and watched the planes fly overhead, observed the busses and trains at Liverpool South Parkway.
During intensive interaction sessions the children developed their early communication skills and worked towards their individual targets.
Welcome to Yew Class! We are made up of 8 boys, Ryan, Connor, Umar, Leo, Muizz, Liam, Tommy and Joseph and one girl, Mia. Our class teacher is Catherine and our LSA's are Libby, Heather, Annemarie and Connor. We have settled in well to our new classroom and made new friends! During this half term we have so far enjoyed learning focusing on our topic of 'The Circus'. We have been engaging with fun and exciting continuous provision activities, working on our communication skills, exploring our creative development and strengthening our fine motor skills. In the outdoor area we have been completing gross motor activities linked to the topic balancing on the walking beam, walking using stilts and accessing sensory play using the sensory equipment.
We have been exploring the life of the circus everyday through sensory stories matching objects to pictures to further stimulate our learning.
