Rowan Class

Hello and welcome to Rowan class!!

In Rowan class there are 7 children; Lexi, Liam, Joe, Kallum, Gordon, Enoch and Declan and we follow the SCERTS curriculum which focuses on developing the children's skills in social communication, emotional regulation using transactional supports. This ensures that the children will be able to communicate effectively and regulate their emotions in order to be able to access a range of activities both in and outside school.

We enjoy a lot of sensory activities throughout the day to ensure that we are ready for learning. These include sensory circuits, which are a set of activities designed to alert us, support our organisation skills before calming us to ensure we are ready for learning. We also enjoy sensory swims, moving ourselves on scootboards and other heavy lifting work such as stacking/rolling tyres.

We are also working hard to develop our independence and complete daily workstation activities and follow visual supports to enable us to be as independent as we possibly can during activities.

Take a look at some of our pictures below and see how much fun we have in Rowan Class everyday!
