With the uncertainty of the current COVID situation, I have added links to different activities we do throughout the school day and other ideas to keep you busy if you are at home :)
Each morning, we start each day with sensory interventions personalised to our needs. Some of us choose to access the outdoor area and complete an obstacle course, some access our class sensory area which has lots of different tactile flooring and different materials for us to feel and some of us to sensory circuits in the sports hall.
Once we are all ready for learning we sit at the table and sing our days of the week song and sing hello to our friends. You could sing these at home :)
It goes like this...
"Hello Emma, hello Emma, hello Emma, its nice to see you here"
The children are encouraged to wave to their friends whilst we sing this song.
Our days of the week song is sang to the tune of The Adams Family.
"Days of the week (clap clap), days of the week (clap clap), days of the week, days of the week, days of the week (clap clap).
There's Sunday and there's Monday, there's Tuesday and there's Wednesday, there's Thursday and there's Friday and then there's Saturday".
After snack and play time, we enjoy sitting together to listen to a story - this term it is What makes a rainbow! We have lots of fun exploring different colours through different objects and sensory textures. Our favourites are bubbles and foam.
Our mornings are spent completing early literacy and numeracy activities as well as workstation and activities to develop are fine motor and mark making skills.
Our afternoons are very busy too, activities include, PE, rebound, TAC PAC, cookery and learning to play with different toys.
To end our day we relax with hand class and some quiet time.
