In hand class, children develop motor skills and communication skills. The session is in 2 parts, the first part is the same each time and the second part changes each half term to fit in with our topic.
In the first part, we use repetitive movements with familiar objects. The children start the session with a hand massage to wake up their hands, fingers, thumbs and wrists, they hold onto objects and lift and lower their arms, hold on and let go to someone else's hand and feel objects move through their hands.
In the second part, the children explore topic related objects that they use different actions to explore or activate.
