Cedar class are nurses for the morning

What a fantastic morning at Alder Hey hospital. We met some kind nurses and a lovely manager called Siobhan who showed us all the equipment they use to keep people safe and make them feel better. Some of us even got bandages on our arms and head! We had so much fun :)

We got to bring some resources back to school and we can't wait to make our classroom into a hospital!

Special thanks to Siobhan Jones, the Assistant Service Manager, for liaising with school and making this event happen.

Kelly Black - Surgical Matron

Trip to the museum

Cedar class had an amazing start to the week; going to the Museum of Liverpool to learn all about some more real life heroes - soldiers - and what they do. We tried on some of the uniforms, learnt all about how heroic soldiers and the army were during World War II and saw lots of other amazing things, like getting to smell the streets of Liverpool 100 years ago and trying on some Chinese new year traditional outfits!

Lifeboat visit

What a lovely morning at the RNLI in New Brighton. We spoke to the volunteers who told us all about how hard they work to protect everyone near the sea.

We got to colour in some colouring sheets, try on the uniform and even sit in the boat! The lifeguards and boat drivers are so brave! :)

A morning at the fire station!

As we have been learning about real life superheroes, today we went to visit a fire station to meet some fire fighters and learn about the amazing job they do. We had so much fun trying on their uniforms, sitting up high in the fire engines and best of all, trying out the fire hoses!

Central Library

Cedar class went to explore Central Library. We got to see all the christmas decorations, the amazing view from the rooftop, and explore all the books in the children's area before settling down together to listen to a story about Santa's Sleigh.
We went to visit Taskers to see all of the amazing Christmas decorations. We did a hunt for different Christmas characters and loved posing next to all of the Christmassy displays.

Trip to Pets at Home

We have been reading about lots of different animal characters in Dr Seuss books and wanted to see some in real life! We said hello to the different pets in Pets at Home and learnt about all how to take care of different animals.
