We had an eggcellent time learning about Easter in Acorn class.
We enjoyed a sensory story which involved going on an egg hunt through a birds nest (feathers), a field of lambs (wool) , a pond of water and we even found some real eggs to crack along the way. Finally, we found lots and lots of tasty chocolate eggs to eat.
We have also been very busy getting creative and we have made some fluffy bunny pictures using cotton wool and our foot prints for the ears. We also made some chick Easter cards using tissue paper. The children have been working on their ability to use different art tools and materials with more independence during these sessions.
We have also been busy practicing our fine and gross motor skills with lots of Easter related activities such as using a spoon to collect eggs from out of water, making playdough eggs, using water bottles to squirt ducks in a race and using tweezers and pom poms.
Finally, we have enjoyed using chocolate to make Easter nests in our cookery sessions.
Some of us also went to the Easter bake off at Millstead and helped the team create a wonderful Easter bunny cake that came 2nd in the cmpetition - well done everyone!
We also enjoyed an Easter bonnet parade on the last day of term. After all of this hard work we were all definitely ready for a break and to enjoy Easter with our families.
We hope you all have a lovey Easter break.
