This term, we are learning to construct vehicles with wheels from things we might normally recycle or throw away. In your home learning packs you will find a set of wheels with axles. You can re-use these wheels each week to make a new vehicle with your child. These can be difficult to attach so your child will need help with this.
You will need to pierce a hole in the box to get the axles through - you can do this by putting a piece of blue tack or playdough underneath where you want the hole, then pushing the axle through the card and into the play dough.
You should repeat each activity as many times as you can throughout the week, so your child can learn to do it as independently as possible. Each time you repeat the activity, encourage them to do one extra step with greater independence e.g. close the scissors without you holding their hand.
Your child can then decorate their vehicles however they choose - you may wish to use stickers, felt-tip pens, crayons or paints.
