Oak Class

Welcome to Oak Class smiley We are made up of 5 girls - Lexi, Sian, Kyla, Millie and Libby and 2 boys - Jack and Mateusz. Hannah is our class teacher and we are very lucky to have Donna, John and Laura who support us with our learning everyday, we also have Liam who supports us on Wednesday and Friday mornings.

We have settled in well to our new class and are learning new routines. Our topic this half term is 'The Circus' we have incorporated this into all our areas for learning. We have particularly enjoyed our sensory story this week 'Oak class go to the circus'. Take a look at what we have been getting up to since September.

Our topic this half term has been celebrations. We  have been looking at birthdays and Christmas. We have particularly loved our birthday party sensory story with balloons, party poppers, blowers, hats and most importantly presents!!

Oak class have enjoyed Autumn walks to different parks across Liverpool. We have been to Sefton Park, Croxteth Park and Calderstones Park. We have been learning to use play equipment appropriately and play alongside our peers in the community.

This half term our focus during PE has been dance. We have done lots of action rhymes and encourage the children to copy actions and move their body to the beat. The children have become more familiar with the songs and are beginning to copy actions independently. We especially love the Hokey Cokey!!

As Christmas is approaching we have had lots of fun activities happening around school. Oak class loved the Christmas party, the children loved dressing up and dancing to the music. Keep looking for more Christmas fun...

During spring term one Oak class have been learning about our topic 'Magic'. The story we have been learning about is Jack and the Beanstalk. We have had some lovely engagement from the children pretending to be the giant, stomping their feet and shouting 'fee fi fo fum'. We enjoying coming together each day for our sensory story and some of us have even been reenacting the story in our play.
