In Holly Class there are 9 children.
Our names are: Isaac, Sky, Mason, Connor, Jamie, Max, Adam, John and Hafsa.
We follow a SCERTS curriculum whereby we focus our efforts on developing our Social Communication, Emotional Regulation and Transactional Support.
We also use PIVATS assessments which means that we learn all about a range of subjects: Literacy, Numeracy, PE, Science, Geography, History and ICT.
In the Autumn term "Paint brushes at the ready" was our first topic. We learnt about some famous artists and replicated their work in our very own style. From Kandinsky to Mondrian and Gaudi to Warhol, our artistic journey has covered a lot of ground. We studied the countries and cultures they come from as well as different aspects of their lives.
Before Christmas we studied "The Jolly Postman" and "The Jolly Christmas Postman." These stories awakened our imaginations and we met lots of different characters along the road. We also embellished ourselves in their stories too. This festive period meant that we were very busy and wrapped up a fantastic 2018 with our performance of the Rock and Roll Nativity in this years Christmas Play!
To start off the Spring Term we are immersing ourselves in an "Italian Experience." We are currently following a character named Tom who is travelling around Italy. Each week our story, "In Rome There's a Dome," is extended an we find out what adventures Tom has been on. Where will he end up next? Tom has been setting us challenges and activities along the way. Some of our challenges have been exhausting and meant that we have had to swim the canals in Venice, bounce our way to Milan and climb the Leaning Tower of Pisa.
