WELCOME TO AFRICA!
Elm Class have been very busy this half term learning all about Africa. We have looked at the different habitats in Africa and found out lots of information about the different animals that live there.
We have read lots of different stories set in Africa including Handa's Surprise, The Selfish Crocodile and Squeak the Lion. Through these stories we have found out about lots of animals that live in Africa, some of the foods they eat and we have had lots of fun acting these stories out with our friends.
We have visited the World museum and the library to find out about Africa and animals that live there. We also visited Asda to buy the fruits from Handa's Surprise and used these to make some very tasty and healthy juice in our cookery lessons.
We have explored lots of different art materials to create different pictures and have woven paper to make houses and mats, used different paint effects to create African backgrounds and made animal masks of our favourite animals.
We have looked at how people and animals grow, how they change, and we are learning to make observations through drawings and taking pictures.
We hope you enjoy looking through our photos and come back soon to see all of the new things we have learned!
